Identified as a “district on the move,” Coxsackie - Athens has a vision that it will be a flagship district within five years. This Vision will be achieved through implementation of a five – year Strategic Plan referenced elsewhere on this website.
Already known as a district with a commitment to excellence, C-A has set as it first goal that of having students exceed all State and National standards in all disciplines in five years. In support of this quest, instructional and administrative staff members will implement fully aligned curriculum with ever – expanding instructional strategies to help all students learn.
This goal will be achieved by our caring and compassionate staff members within a positive and supportive school community.
Along with the district being on the move, the surrounding area is changing as well. Greene County and the Coxsackie – Athens area is in the midst of economic development. Nevertheless, through the efforts of various county agencies, and various town and village Comprehensive Planning committees, the district will maintain its “small town” feel for years to come. The towns and hamlets of the area will remain a quality place to raise families, with available housing, attractive scenic vistas, and numerous recreational opportunities. And as an added bonus, the district is within easy traveling distance of major metropolitan areas such as New York City and Boston. Coxsackie - Athens, then, provides a setting in which children can get a very fine education and where families can enjoy a quality way of life.
