7th Graders answered questions from various subject areas in a battle for victory.
The 8th grade students heard speeches from Clarence Chan and Benito Flores, our current valedictorian and salutatorian, regarding what it takes to be successful in high school. The 8th grade students also participated in a tour of the high school, met Mr. Quiles, said goodbye to Mr. Proper, heard some advice during a Q&A panel with current HS students, created a time capsule, and enjoyed a Myth vs. Reality show.

From deep underground to soaring through the sky the 7th Grade field trip to Howe Caverns had it all. Students had the opportunity to stretch themselves beyond their comfort zones and challenge their fears with the Howe Caverns High Adventure a four tower zip line, ropes course and rock wall. They also participated in a guided walking and boat tour of the ancient caverns. Thank you Mrs. Bergman and all the chaperones for making such an amazing opportunity possible!
Students in Mr. Hughes’s social studies classes are ending the year researching and discussing some of the most widely debated issues of the time. Among the debate topics are the Patriot Act, Drone Strikes, the current Presidential Candidates and the Iraq War. After writing a persuasive research based essay on their topics students then engage in a debate style discussion, giving them a chance to practice their public speaking skills, in an effort to win over their classmates to “their side/view” of their topic.
