Meet the Counselors: Bios
Mrs. Dawn T. Essex
Dawn earned a M.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor
concentration in Psychology from the University at Albany and a M.S. in
Education from the College of Saint Rose. She spent several
years working as a Research Scientist before pursuing her current career
as a School Counselor. Dawn has been a dedicated High School
Counselor at Coxsackie-Athens High School since 1994.
Dawn enjoys spending time with her husband Sam and daughter Marie.
Her favorite ventures include visiting the Adirondacks, swimming, and
attending professional hockey games.
Ms. Jessica Pray
Jessica earned a B.A. in Psychology from Siena
College and an M.S. in School Guidance and Counseling from Sage Graduate
School. She began her career on the island of Kauai'i in Hawai'i and
also worked at Averill Park CSD prior to becoming a counselor at C-A in
2008.
When she is not with C-A students, Jessica is a real estate agent
for Big Blue Realty, plays on a co-ed softball team with friends,
proctors the NYS Teacher exams, and is a member of the events staff at
the Times Union Center in Albany.
