CHILDREN NEED HEALTHY MEALS TO LEARN.

At C-A, our mission is to serve nutritious, balanced meals to students and faculty in a creative and hospitable environment. When you’re with us, it’s our pleasure to serve you fresh, colorful and wholesome food.
Our students need a nutritious breakfast and lunch every day to keep them healthy and to help them stay focused on learning.

Children from households that meet Federal income guidelines (outlined in the letters below) are eligible for free meals or reduced price meals.
New Applications for Free or Reduced priced meals can be filled out at any time during the school year.

Healthy Eating and Academic Performance tied

Nutritional food and physical activity is essential in helping keep students focused on learning. Healthy students learn better! Research shows important links between physical activity, healthy eating, and academic performance. Choose MY Plate is a resource for you and your family for healthy eating tips - www.chooseMyPlate.gov.

Is eating a good breakfast important?
A hungry child cannot learn. Our breakfast program offers all children a critical jump start at the beginning of their school day. Children who aren’t hungry feel better, learn better, and behave better. Studies have found that students who eat breakfast have a general increase in math grades and reading scores, increased student attention, reduced nurse visits, and improved student behaviors.

Convenient Prepayment Options

The former myNutrikids program used by C-A for paying for your child's meals from the comfort of your home in advance has now changed to mySchoolBucks.com. The program offers the same secure online service that lets you pre-pay for meals online using a credit card, debit card or checking account (Paypal no longer accepted).
mySchoolBucks.com allows you the convenience of adding funds to your child's meal account, scheduling automatic payments, opting to receive an electronic “low funds” reminder message and viewing a monthly report of your child's daily spending and purchases. You can also prepay for meals by sending in a check payable to Coxsackie-Athens School Lunch Fund and please indicate students name on the check.
